5 Ways To Make Your Home A Spiritual Haven

Chaos is a part of life. Traffic, unruly people on streets, a busy office, tough relationships — it can be difficult to find a peaceful moment among all the distractions. You can plan on flying off to Himalayas or Hawaii, but let's face it: after a brief retreat, you have to come back to chaos again.
What if you could make your home a serene place? It takes a little effort and passion to make it a peaceful and spiritually uplifting sanctuary, but it's totally worth it. Here are five ideas to help you clear the energy and make your home a spiritual haven:
1. Get cozy with plants.
Plants in your home not only are good for health, but are linked to happiness, too. According to the study, the air quality improves, concentration is better, and compassion and positivity increases.
There are many plants that elevate you spiritually. Basil brings luck, protection and purity to your home. Lavender gives you mental peace, relieves you of negative emotions. Jasmine attracts love and money. Honeysuckle increases your intuition.

2. Find the right crystal.
A blue turquoise crystal placed in a northeast section of the home draws the right gurus and support from the universe. Place citrine in the southeast corner of your home to attract wealth. Amethyst amplifies spiritual energies. Rose quartz helps attract love; place it near your bed. Jade gives you health and wisdom. Black obsidian in the hall absorbs any negative energy that gathers due to stress, tension and other negative emotions of visitors. Just make sure you're educated and purchasing from a crystal purveyor you trust!
3. Light a lamp or candles.
One great example of an energy-healing light is an Indian lamp; locally called a "diya," it has a cotton wick and ghee for fuel. The combination of ghee and fire produces extremely high spiritual energy, called satvik (the highest form of purity). The diya promotes peace and wisdom in the house. If it's unavailable, you can light an odd number of candles.
4. Burn incense.
Incense sticks make the atmosphere congenial for spiritual contemplation. Burning "dhoop" (cone-shaped incense) is considered a sacred ritual. Burn frankincense, nag champa or sandalwood incense to reduce depression and anxiety.
5. Clean with salt water.
Take a teaspoon of sea salt in a spray bottle filled with water. You can clean walls and windows with it. Apart from taking out dirt, it takes out all the bad energy accumulated due to stress, fights and negative thought process.
Apart from this, choose a calming color palette for your home. Make a weekly appointment with your home to remove clutter, cleansing, taking care of plants and organizing it well. You'll feel the soothing effect it will have on your mind and body.
Let's make our home a catalyst for our spiritual journey.
