In numerology 2015 is a Universal Eight Year. A chance to cash in – but only if we’re prepared to step up and prove our personal power, says Practical Numerologist Felicia Bender.
One of the reasons you simply can’t resist making New Year’s Resolutions is because you’re feeling a very real, very profound shift in energy from one year to the next. By the Numbers, it’s undeniable.
In Numerology, there are Universal Years and Personal Years. The Universal Year is like the landscape or terrain you’re driving through all year long, and is calculated by adding the numbers of the current year together. The Personal Year is calculated from your individual birth date and tells you more specifically what you’ll personally be working with during the year.
You can think of the Universal Year as the state or country you’re driving through on your yearly “road trip” and the Personal Year as more representative of the points of destination you individually choose to stop at as you “travel” throughout the year.
2015 is a number Eight Universal Year in Numerology.
A Universal Year means that everyone on the planet will be feeling the energy related to a particular number during the entire year.
You calculate the Universal Year by simply adding the numbers in the current year (in this case, 2015) together like this: 2015 = 2 + 0 + 1 + 5 = 8
All of us begin feeling this energy starting January 1, 2015, and it’ll end on December 31, 2015. Keep in mind also that everyone in the world is experiencing an Eight Universal Year in 2015. The number Eight is the money number. When it shows up, understand that it’s going to be an intense year across the board.
The number Eight is an amplifier, and so everything is going to be “amped up” in 2015 whether you like it or not. When people think of the energy of the Eight, they often skip right over to the “Ka-Ching!” We hear the beautiful sound of the cash register of our own bank accounts bursting at the seams. We envision rapid windfalls of wealth and feel excitement that our ship will finally come in. It reminds me of that feeling you can get listening to the song Royals by Lorde. As though you’ll finally be paid for all the time, energy, blood, sweat, and tears that you’ve been putting into your desire to make a lot of money.
And yes, the energy of the Eight Universal Year can bring all of that abundance to the forefront. No doubt about it. And it can feel magical and sweep you away with its power.
Yet, here’s the rub (as Shakespeare’s Hamlet would say). The energy of the Eight tests you in the realms of power. And it’s not just a little open-book quiz – this is like the comprehensive exams for your Doctorate. And once you pass the exams, then you must write your dissertation. Once you finish your dissertation, then you must defend it in front of your committee. Once you defend it in front of your committee – and you pass – then you get your degree. Ardous? Yes. Worth it? Damn right.
Understand that this testing can revolve around your sense of personal power—do you feel you have a spine in business and personal relationships?
Or it can reside internally—do you feel worthy? Do you ask for what you’re worth? Do you take responsibility for yourself?
Or do people mistake you for a well-worn doormat? Have you opted into victimhood, believing that the scarcity you experience is everyone else’s fault?
The energy of the Eight can also take you down a notch if you lean toward living in the ego—are you overly money-focused? A workaholic? Troubled with an addiction or two? This could be a year where you get a wake-up call and experience a period of spiritual recalibration.
2015 is your year to develop and nurture everything related to money, power, control, and authority. It’s a year to think big. Announce your intentions in neon. Plan. Organize. Manage. Put petty emotions aside and tap into practical business-like thinking. It’s not a year for slacking, procrastinating, or playing the victim. And you’ll feel the intensity right out of the chute. Everyone is evaluating—on a global scale —what real power looks like. What does real wealth feel like? And what does it take to be an effective yet compassionate authority figure?
This is a year for advancement, recognition, achievement, and financial gain (or loss, or both). And it’s not a time to depend on luck or a lax attitude. The Eight requires concerted effort, continuous intent, and focus.
If 2015 is all about “show me the money” then it’s also about “show me what you’re made of.” There can be amazing gains, wonderful advancement, powerful achievement, and financial abundance. And there can also be losses, set backs, feelings of victimization, and financial slaps-in-the-face. Know this: The Eight is about resilience. And the energy of the Eight also demands the utmost ethics in all things. So keep everything above board, be honest and forthright in 2015 and you’ll be rewarded. If not, you may pay the penalty. This is a year where a lack of focus or clarity of intention will get you nowhere. Seriously, nowhere.
You have to step forward and claim what’s yours. You need to recognize opportunities and seize them – or create your own opportunities. You will benefit from stepping up and taking yourself seriously. And all the while not resorting to greed, underhanded dealings, bullying control, or workaholism. Balance must be achieved and yet is tenuous during a year guided by the intense energy of the Eight.
2015 ushers in an intense year of testing your resolve, potential advancement, and financial gains and/or losses. It’s the beginning of a universal three-year “push time” where all of us in the world will be going through self-evaluation, transitions, and transformations on a rather grand scale. Change is in the air and decisions about where our true power and empowerment resides will have to be made. The energy surrounding you in 2015 demands that you define yourself and step into your power.
