1. Embrace, but control, your emotions.
Sensitive and emotional people should embrace their emotional sides. It’s an important thing to do. In many ways, you’re lucky to be alive! Part of the fun of being alive is the opportunity to feel and enjoy all the little emotions of your life. At the same time, it’s important to know how to control your emotions. No matter if you’re very angry or very happy or very sad, you have a life to honor. You have a life to continue on with. Don’t let your emotions control you. Remember, you are the one in control.
2. Remember to protect yourself.
Being an emotional person is fine, but sensitive people have a tendency to wear it on their sleeves. This leaves them open for the potential for manipulation from others. Feel those emotions, but know how to protect yourself from not so bad people.
3. Focus on what really matters.
One potential problem with being emotional is getting caught up in every little detail, every little emotion. It’s fine to feel it, but keep your eye on the prize. Remember the things that are truly important.
4. Being a sensitive soul is not the same as being a weak one.
Pop culture makes sensitive people seem like sissies, like they’re weak. It’s not so! In fact, it takes a lot of strength to tap into your feelings. Don’t be afraid of it, but be brave in the face of it.
